At the Niagara SPCA in Niagara Falls, New York, it’s not everyday a parrot is surrendered to an animal shelter by its owner. Probably even stranger is a parrot named Pepper who cusses!
Pepper is a White-Fronted Amazon, also known as a white-fronted parrot. These birds are known to be intelligent, playful, outgoing and love attention. Like most Amazons they are not very cuddly, but will accept gentle scratches on their own terms. Their life span is usually around 40 years.
According to the rescue organization, while Pepper’s beautiful feathers and handsome appearance can definitely be a colorful companion in one’s home, but when someone walks in and hears Pepper’s profanities; might that be a trifle offensive?
on the brighter side, if you want to keep unannounced company from dropping in, adopt Pepper. They’ll think twice after being cussed out by your new foul-mouthed feathered friend.
When you question if Pepper wants a cracker, perhaps be prepared if this bundle of feathers and beak responds with the question if you want Pepper “to kick your a**?
Pepper and his friends, a sun conure, (sun parakeet) along with six more parakeets will be ready for adoption next week.
Please… serious inquiries only, and adopters must have experience and appropriate housing.
