Emaciated and neglected senior weighing only five pounds found wandering the streets searching for food

Admin

How would a tiny, emaciated pup covered in fleas and weighing only five pounds be able to fend for herself out on the streets in the southern area of Los Angeles? Her medical notes indicate her eye area was so swollen, veterinarians were unable to evaluate her enucleated eye global area as a result of dried discharge.

Meet Savanah. She is a female mixed breed gal with the most adorable ears that stick straight up. She arrived at the shelter on September 16 and is estimated to be only six-years-old, but the neglect she has lived through has obviously taken its toll on her health and well-being.

PetHarbor Adoption listing:

Savannah is listed as Blue Medical Status which means she has a treatable medical condition that is too severe to be cared for at the shelter. She needs to be either adopted or rescued and needs private medical care. Notes from the shelter indicate Savannah would not allow a full examination, but dental disease is noted, she is slow and weak demonstrating a stiff gait and hind limb muscles show atrophy. When offered food, however Savannah did eat.
