Emaciated dog trapped in abandoned attic fell in love with her rescuer at first sight

Admin

Just a week ago, Jami Lassell and her friend arrived at an abandoned house in Palmerton, Pennsylvania to clean out the attic, when they found an emaciated, trapped dog left with no food or water. It is not known how long the dog had been there, but the pungent smell of urine and feces indicated the experience for the poor pup must have been intolerable.

According to WnepNews, the pit bull mix immediately fell in love with Jami and didn’t want to leave her side. Miraculously, the dog now named Remi doesn’t have a mean bone in her body. Sadly, Remi has more problems than just hunger indicating she likely had been the victim of neglect and abuse.

“Her back leg is broken. It healed on its own, so her kneecap is not connected, and a bone grew behind it. She does have broken nail, too, and they are removing that. We have to take her to get that removed. She has a broken tooth that we have to take her to a doggy dentist to get removed which we think that was from chewing on the wall.”

It appeared as if Remi has been scratching and biting all over the room trying to escape. The two-year-old pooch has a long road to recovery, but Jami is determined to help her and have formed a close bond between them.

A GoFundMe has been set up to help with bills.  Lassell has raised more than $5,000 which will include surgical costs related to her leg as well as the tooth extraction which is broken down to the gums.

“Wanted to give a quick update on this pretty girl! She’s a little chunky monkey now! She’s doing great! We go on Monday to see the surgeon & see what’s gonna happen we are trying to get a place figured out so we can have a walk for her, but it’s been a lot harder than I thought… lol so I will get it figured out this week & we will have a date. I am making shirts, & possibly cups? If anyone would be interested!! And there will be treats for your pups when you get there!!! Hope to see lots of people.”
