Dog trapped along frozen waterfall rescued by crews from Archuleta County Sheriff’s office teams

Admin

Near a frozen waterfall near the top of Treasure Falls in Pagosa Springs, Colorado, a dog found herself trapped. Officers from the Archuleta County Sheriff’s Office responded to the reports of a missing dog spotted in the area.

The dog had been missing since Sunday evening and became separated from her owner during a backcountry skiing adventure.

According to the sheriff’s office Facebook page, teams from the Upper San Juan Search & Rescue as well as the Wolf Creek Ski Area patrol also helped in the rescue. Crews were able to lure the dog to them and bring her to safety.

She was in good spirits and doing well considering her week in the mountains. A warm bed and a hot meal will be well received.
