In a scary incident in the Delta Flats area at Big Tujunga Canyon in Los Angeles on Tuesday, a German shepherd was able to be reunited with his family after a narrow escape to safety.
According to CbsNews, the dog named Onyx became stranded halfway down a 200-foot cliff while out hiking with his owner when the dog fell off the cliff. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s department quickly responded, and Onyx miraculously escaped uninjured.
The Twitter video of the rescue operation went viral.
#LASD Air Rescue 5 and LASD @MontroseSAR Search and Rescue personnel rescued a hiker and the hiker’s family pet who was stuck on the side of a cliff overnight in Big Tujunga Canyon in the Delta Flats area. Dog and hiker are safe.
