In Paxton, Florida, rescue workers from South Walton Fire District’s Technical Rescue Team (TRT) responded to a mutual aid call on Wednesday afternoon when their partners at Walton County Fire Rescue, Florida reported a dog had fallen into a 15-foot deep hole.
The firefighters arrived on the scene and assessed the air quality in the hole and once it was deemed safe to enter, the firefighters used a ladder attached to a safety line.
The firefighter descended the ladder and made contact with the dog, who was very friendly, then used webbing to build the dog a safety harness.

The dog appeared unharmed. Shortly after the rescue, the Walton County Animal Control and Walton County Public Works arrived at the scene to evaluate the dog’s health and fill the hole.
