In Johnson County, Arkansas, a missing man and his dog ended after search teams discovered the two side by side in the woods. According to the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office, Timothy Reels, 62, was found dead one week after he was reported missing.
The man’s body was discovered about 1/4 mile from where sheriff’s deputies found his ATV on Sunday night. His dog, who was alive, was still beside him.
A ground search, comprised of local firefighters, rescue crews and the sheriff’s office used K9s, drones boats and ATVs to help find Reels. “Foul play” has been ruled out, but it is not clear how he died, when he died or how long his pit bull pooch stayed by his side watching over him. The dog was captured and taken to a veterinarian’s office to be examined.
Investigators are still on scene. They will work in conjunction with the coroner’s office to determine time and cause of death.
