Blind shepherd gets his freedom ride from cruel owner in Mexico

Admin

A recent story about a young German shepherd is both heartbreaking and frightening, but Ho’Ola Dog Rescue, a Los Angeles based dog rescue organization dedicated to helping animals from Mexico, is hoping to make life better for him.

Just days ago, animal advocates in Mexico sent out an emergency plea for help when they discovered the owners of the shepherd decided to have the dog’s eyes removed because they said he was aggressive and figured if they removed his eyes, he would calm down. The brutality of the deed left rescuers stunned, and the work to raise funds for the dog’s rescue and his subsequent care and training began.

On Saturday morning, Ho’Ola Dog Rescue posted on their social media page the dog had been rescued and is safe. He has been named Kaipo; which in Hawaiian means Sweetheart.

He is now getting some testing done with our vets so he can start his quarantine before he gets to LA! Even though this boy is saved and out of his previous owners hands finally his real journey starts now he NEEDS a foster with no other dogs preferably.

The foster home needs to be in the Los Angeles area. The rescue organization will supply the foster home with everything needed. All that is required, of course besides caring for the dog, is to drive him to his veterinarian appointments and continue with training tips that will be sent home with him.

When Kaipo arrives in Los Angeles, he will first go with the organization’s trainer, but eventually will need to move to a preapproved foster home.

As everyone tries to recover from this absolutely horrible situation Kaipo has had to endure, it’s important to remember a brighter future awaits him.

We just wanna say how grateful our whole team is for seeing everyone come together and support this boy from the bottom of our hearts we are so appreciative and so grateful sometimes in rescue when we see things like this we lose hope because it’s so sad and almost unbearable to handle but when the community comes together like you guys have it really reminds us how kind and generous people are!
