Nessy had been separated from her family in Bucha a few weeks ago during the Russian invasion. Miraculously, it had been meant to be when Nessy was found by Belarusian soldiers volunteering as members of the Kastus Kalilnouskiv Battalion during the liberation from the Russian invaders.
According to the Kastus Kalinouskiv Battalion Facebook, the soldiers helped to find Nessy’s owner and arranged for the heartwarming reunion. The video of the two reuniting and Nessy’s emotional outburst when she spotted her human led to an outpouring of love on social media.
A little positive in these difficult times. During Bucha’s release we found Nessy, the dog, left alone. But thanks to our friends, we found her hosts and today she is back to them. Look at this emotional moment.
As long as some treat people like animals, we are fighting for the lives of not only humans but every animal.

There still remains many pet owners who refuse to leave their pets behind if they are not permitted to bring them to shelters. So far UAnimals and the Gostomel Animal Shelter have rescued hundreds of pets.
