Abandoned dog who spent Christmas Day on discarded couch still waits for a new family

Admin

While people and their pets were celebrating Christmas Day last year, the photo of an abandoned dog lying on a discarded couch at the side of a country road in Tyler, Texas went viral and broke collective hearts.

The emaciated dog, at the time thought to have been attacked by wild hogs, needed help. When the photo of the poor pup went viral on Facebook, the sharing of this dog’s heartbreaking plight began to be noticed. Nicholas Pet Haven stepped up to help.

The staff at the clinic, where the dog was brought for veterinary care, named him Lays. (Couch potato). He had been strong heartworm positive and has since completed treatment. Lays loves other animals including cats.

This pup has lots of love to give, and he is still at Nicholas Pet Haven waiting for a family of his own. Months ago, when his heartbreaking photo appeared on social media, “everyone” wanted to adopt him, but here he waits.

If you are interested in giving him a home, the rescue is accepting applications. Maybe just a reminder how utterly adorable and sweet four-year-old Lays is, will prompt the perfect family to come forward? Please share – this is a boy who should be home by now.
