Ohio – Nearly two dozen German shepherds have been given a second chance at life after being rescued from property described as “deplorable.” On Wednesday, the Ohio SPCA & Humane Society stated that as soon as they arrived at the property, it was evident that the dogs had to be removed. When all was said and done, 22 German shepherds were seized.
According to the animal welfare agency, the owner of the dogs willingly surrendered them to the shelter and now the task is to ensure that the dogs receive all of the veterinary care that they need to recuperate and be ready for adoption.
The shelter is facing a huge financial burden from the influx of dogs. People in the area who would like to help can donate adult and/or puppy food, treats, and peanut butter; the shelter is located at 3606 Elida Road, Lima.
