At 15 years of age, a dog named Casey was left at an Oklahoma animal shelter by an owner who told staff that they simply “didn’t want him anymore.” On Monday, Ardmore Animal Shelter introduced Facebook followers to the elderly dog, writing:
Casey was left at our shelter because his previous owner simply didn’t want him anymore, he’s pretty confused still, we definitely understand why; 15 years is a lifetime for most dogs. 💔
According to the shelter, Casey was originally left at the shelter to be euthanized, but they have opted to spare his life because he has no underlying conditions and seems to be in good health. Describing his amicable personality:
he gets along well with other dogs and he absolutely loves being outside in the warm sunshine. ☀️ He walks well on a leash and shakes paws; he is timid but considering the circumstances, we can see why.
