At the California City Animal Shelter in California City, a four-month-old puppy arrived on Sunday painted green. Because of her condition, the shelter only wants her to be released as “rescue only” since the shelter doesn’t have any funding for veterinarian help, and therefore her best chances would be to be released to an approved rescue organization.
The staff at the shelter describe her as very sweet, but defeated. This puppy is only a few months of age; she hasn’t even had a chance to live.
As for her color – it’s known that dog fighters paint dogs to track them. Bait dogs are used by dog-fighting rings to get their dogs ready to fight, and it’s common for them to spray paint their dogs different colors so that they can keep track of them.

This poor pooch has sores all over her body. It is likely the paint is toxic and may be the cause of the sores.
Please share this puppy’s plight with friends, family and social media contacts for emergency help. Sharing saves lives.
