Rescue ‘at capacity’ but couldn’t say no to dog with huge tumor

Admin

A South Carolina rescue group is “at capacity,” but when they saw a dog with a huge tumor hanging from his body, they could not say no. Lovable Paws Rescue and Sanctuary named the neglected dog Trooper and saw to it that he received the care that he so desperately needed. On July 23, the animal welfare agency wrote:

Well, no words are needed whether to help this poor soul or not. His name will be Trooper. We are at capacity at Lovable Paws Rescue and Sanctuary but, he needs our help and needs it now. We will do a stray hold but if the owner hasn’t taken care of it by now they never will and maybe needs help as well. We are going to do what we can for this fur baby and try to track down the owner in the meantime.

And this week, Trooper underwent surgery to have the mass removed. On Thursday morning, the rescue agency said:

We are on our way to the vets with Trooper. He loves to ride in the car.

And a few hours later, a social media post letting Facebook followers know that the tumor was surgically removed from Trooper’s body and he was safely out of surgery.

Trooper update!!! He’s out of surgery. Long surgery but he’s out now. He’s warming up and waking up. Updates a little later.
