A “friendly, smart, and energetic” five-year-old dog is patiently waiting to be adopted from a New York animal shelter where she has been held for a year and a half. Her name is Oreo, and she has been at the Babylon Animal Shelter in Long Island, New York, since March 2021.
The original social media post for Oreo reads:
My name is Oreo and I am a sweet, loving girl. I am about 5 years old, full of energy and love to play fetch and cuddle with my people. I was dumped by my “family” after 5 years in a home and have been very lost and sad ever since. 💔
According to those who know Oreo, she “loves people” and craves attention, but can be slow to warm up to strangers (unless they have a tennis ball!). The March 2021 post indicates that Oreo is stressed at the facility:
I am SUPER stressed at the shelter and desperately need a family to love. I must be the only pet. ❤️
This makes her situation even sadder…she was stressed more than a year ago and is still locked away without a family of her own.
Please share Oreo’s information to help her find a family. She has been waiting long enough as it is.
