Abandoned dog found lying against curb in dirty water had ‘given up’ until his angel arrived

Admin

Along the streets of St. Louis, a Good Samaritan reported spotting an older dog lying against a curb in dirty water. When rescuer, Donna, from Stray Rescue of St. Louis pulled up, the sound of the jeep’s arrival prompted the poor old boy to lift his head for just a moment. Within seconds, the dog threw his head back down as if he had been thinking, “I give up. I know no one will help me.”

Doesn’t it seem that dogs read humans so much better than we read dogs? As soon as rescue volunteer, Donna started speaking to him, he knew someone was there to help. Even without a leash, he followed Donna back to her vehicle, and when she picked him up, he quickly made himself comfortable on the soft blanket in the back.

He has been named Curby, and everyone has fallen in love with him.

Check out his story on video. This is where Curby’s life will begin anew.

We didn’t even need a leash. As soon he realized we were there specifically for HIM, he got up. He followed Donna right to the jeep, she picked him up, and he laid down on the blankets in the back. We named this angel Curby, we are smitten.

There are never enough angels among us, but we appreciate everyone who gives of themselves to help those who cannot speak.
