In Rancho Cucamonga, California, this one-year-old Siberian husky arrived at the shelter as a stray. She is very pretty, quite petite and reminds us of an arctic fox. Unfortunately, where ever she came from, her former family did not socialize her much, and she remains shy and very reserved around new people.
PetHarbor adoption listing:
WINTER – ID#A759149
My name is Winter and I am a female, white Siberian Husky.
The shelter thinks I am about 1 year and 1 month old.
I may be available on Sep 03, 2022.
I have been at the shelter since Aug 29, 2022.
From the shelter staff:
Winter is a pretty, petite, husky girl. She came to us without much socialization and is still shy with new people and situations. Winter is very treat motivated and can be coaxed into trying new things if she is offered a good snack. As this girl has come out of her shell, she has begun to show us her sweet personality. She loves a nice soft bed, chewy bones, and scritches in her super soft neck fur. Winter would do best in a home where she can be introduced to new things with patience. Homes with children under 10 are not recommended.
Pet Harbor
According to volunteers, Winter is very treat oriented and can be coaxed into trying new things. She has slowly been coming out of her shell and has been showing her very sweet personality. She loves the feel of a soft bed, chew bones, attention and being scratched around her neck.
Winter would do best in a home where she is introduced to new people and new experiences very slowly and with lots of patience. She does enjoy play groups, but has shown some resource guarding behavior when it comes to sharing toys and balls. She has snapped at another dog when he come near her while she is receiving attention from her handlers.
