Kitten with glass jar stuck on her head rescued in Fall River

Admin

No one knows exactly how long a six-month-old kitten had been wandering around Danforth Street in Fall River with a glass jar stuck over her head, but rescuers from Fall River Animal Control and the Animal Rescue League of Boston helped her get out of a “tight spot.”

According to the press release from the Animal Rescue League of Boston, rescuers removed the jar and brought her to the ARL’s care in Dedham near Boston.

Although the kitten was a bit dirty from living on the streets, ARL’s shelter medicine determined she was in good health, and proceeded to provide the kitten with vaccines and spay surgery.

The adorable kitten has been named Buzz Lightyear because of the lookalike astronaut helmet she had been wearing. She isn’t ready to be adopted yet, as she is still learning to trust humans and will need time to become socialized.

And as an added bonus, the rescue groups also discovered another cat colony and is now in the process of providing medical care, neutering services and hope to potentially find homes for these strays also.
