Tina was scheduled to die at Memphis shelter but help came and her life of being adored has begun

Admin

Tina’s death sentence had already been scheduled. She had only been at the shelter a few days. At Memphis Animal Services, Tina’s (aka Twinkletoes) had to be adopted or have a rescue commitment by Monday afternoon. The dog had clearly been through a life of hell at the hands of humans, but Tina overlooked all of the emotional and physical pain once inflicted upon her, and she just wanted to be loved.

Tina walked right up to a human and another dog on the street asking for help. Ears butchered, chain dangling from her neck, in heat, probably bred more than once, bite scars all over her face and a wound on her hip. Still – Tina loves humans.

She just wants to be near them. She lays low when you approach, asking for you to be kind. Her eyes are filled with hope.

When she was found, her rescuer said the dog just hopped into the car. Of course, no surprise – Tina didn’t have a microchip.

“Tina Twinkle Toes” her finder called her because she makes ‘biscuits’ while waiting on a leash for you to pay attention to her. But no one knows her. No one is looking for her. And now she’s out of time.

Sadly, Memphis suffers from a homeless dog problem. They do not have a “no kill” shelter, and dogs like Tina always die. They are hit by cars, they die from being in fights, they die left out in the elements, and they die in the shelters.

This time, however Tina didn’t die. Tina was adopted. Through the non profit Stand Up For Pits Foundation, Tina found her human.
