The Houston SPCA is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for tying an elastic hairband around the snout of a two-month-old puppy, causing severe swelling and a deep laceration to the bone.
According to the non profit animal rescue organization, the puppy, now dubbed Sharky, was discovered in a parking lot in north Houston near the Gulf Freeway and West Road by a Good Samaritan.
Houston SPCA veterinarian Dr. Shipley, performed surgery on the puppy, and Sharky is now doing well and resting comfortably. He is currently being administered pain medication, antibiotics and hydrotherapy.
Anyone with information is asked to call 713.869.SPCA or email [email protected]. Please share this article and the photos of Sharky, and help to find the person who is responsible for this cruel and heartless act.
