At the New York City Care Center in Brooklyn, Paranorman is soon to be humanely euthanized. What this young boy thought would be a place to heal his heart after having been rescued when found tied up to a park bench at the Lincoln Park Terrace playground in Brooklyn, instead has turned out to be his death sentence.
A volunteer writes:
We’ve only known Paranorman a short time. Unfortunately he has struggled immensely in the shelter, especially in his kennel, and has quickly found himself at risk. Fortunately we got to meet Paranorman outside of his kennel and get glimpses into the pup he could be, if he gets a chance outside of the shelter environment. In the yard he sheds some of his kennel stress, starting with a quick snuggle followed by a big zoom! He zips back and forth a few times, before investigating our toy selection. He wins our heart when he comes over for a snuggle, resting his head on a knee affectionately. He earns our laughter when he taste tests our selection of treats, hilariously spitting out his less favored options. We have a feeling this boy has a big personality, and we hope he gets the opportunity to share it with a special person!

Paranorman is available for public adoption, but needs to go to an experienced “level 3” home with only adults. He had been reactive in his kennel during his veterinarian examination, he was also described as waggy, sought petting, playful and had a relaxed body language. He greeted a female dog with intense sexual motivation. The shelter recommends force free, rewards based training.
His ID is #156228.
