For seven long weeks along the outskirts of Norwalk, California someone’s loyal dog waited for his family to return. The heeler mix stayed in the same two spots – watched the traffic pass by, watched people walking by ignoring him, but still he never moved from the two spots; one of them where he had been left.
On Wednesday, a Good Samaritan called rescuer Suzette Hall, founder of the rescue, Logan’s Legacy 29 started in memory of her son, and asked her for help. When Suzette arrived, he was still there – it had been cold all night, but he still waited. A few neighbors had been feeding him, but others had been chasing him away. No doubt this poor pup’s heart had been broken.
I set two traps and loaded them with hotdogs and chicken. But the sweet baby wasn’t hungry because everyone had been feeding him. I just watched him wait back and forth to his two waiting spots. I wasn’t leaving until he was safe.

The abandoned pup had taken a liking to one of the neighbor’s dog, but he was so skittish no one was able to even approach him. Suzette decided to use the neighbor’s dog to lure him closer to her. And with her gentle, snappy snare ready, she waited for the perfect time. As the heeler started to play with the neighbor’s dog, Suzette was able to act – the pup was finally captured.
Nobody could believe I got him. Because I couldn’t believe it either. He was finally safe. We got him safe into my trap. He was soooooo thankful. He literally let me rub him and hold him. The best feeling ever. He won’t have to wait anymore for you to come back. Because he is rescued!
