At the John F Kennedy International Airport in New York, a Transportation Security Administration officer recently was shocked when she spotted a cat inside of a traveler’s luggage as it passed through the security scanner on Tuesday.
According to the agency’s Twitter account, where a photo of a dark suitcase that was not completely zipped around, orange fur hair had been sticking out. Lisa Farbstein, a public information officer for the agency the hairs belonged to the cat inside of the suitcase.
A @TSA officer was shocked to find an orange cat inside a checked bag at @JFKairport after it went through the X-ray unit. The cat belonged to someone else in his household.
On the bright side, the cat’s out of the bag and safely back home.

No doubt TSA officers have full time jobs, and we are all grateful for their efforts keeping us safe during airline travel. Now we can add finding wayward kitties to their job description?
