In Universal City, Texas, Cookie and Freckles have always had a wonderful life since they were rescued as puppies. They loved to sleep on the couch, go outside for walks, play fetch, and at the end of the day cuddle up with their favorite person. When circumstances started to change, Cookie and Freckles could sense how sad their dad had become and the terrible disease that has ravaged his once healthy body.
He used to play with us and walk with us. Then things changed. He started being tired and was gone a lot. He was sad but we cuddled with him when he was home and tried to fix him…
But it didn’t work. He left us suddenly.

Tragically, it had been cancer claiming the life of the human so precious and loved by Cookie and Freckles. After their beloved owner’s death, the two dogs were sent to live with relatives, but the aged grandparent and her caretaker had serious medical problems to cope with – making it too difficult to care for Cookie and Freckles. And once again, in what felt like the blink of an eye, the two were sent to another relative’s home.
And then there were homeowner association restrictions against the two, and again, no one could be there to help them. Their future looks so bleak. Rescuers have now turned to social media and hope someone will step forward and help heal the loneliness Cookie and Freckles must be feeling. Please share their story.
We need a family to save us. We have always been well cared for and we are very good girls. We to to doggie daycare and never present any problems. We don’t take up much room and even though we love to play we’re happy cuddling and watching tv.
Everyone keeps saying we’re running out of time. We know what that means.
