A four-month-old Leonberger mix shivers with fright at Miami-Dade Animal Services; the clanking of the metal bowls, the desperate barking and crying of other dogs and the strangers – yes the strangers staring at her and trying to assure her better days are coming.
Hence the brief story of Luna (#A2584632) who arrived at the shelter on May 5.
Adoption listing:
A2584632
Animal Name: LUNA
Located At: Miami-Dade Animal Services
Kennel Number: OFFICE
Description: I am an unaltered female, tan and black Leonberger mix.
Age: The shelter staff think I am about 4 months old
More Info: I have been at the shelter since May 05, 2024.
The staff has Luna in the office to help her adjust; there she warms up to people, but otherwise is shut down. She will need socialization and positive reinforcement, especially because she will be a big girl when she grows up. She is also prone to shelter specific diseases, and a foster or permanent home would be best for this frightened puppy.
For more information, please contact the Miami Dade Animal Services located at 3599 NW 79th Avenue, Doral, Florida 33122. Call (305) 884.1101 or email [email protected]
Please share Luna’s plight with approved rescue organizations, friends, family and social media contacts. Sharing saves lives. No dog is safe until they are out of the shelter.
