What a sad story it had been for Lemuel until Little Wanderers NYC came to his rescue on Saturday. For days Lemuel sat on the ledge of a Bronx apartment building and tried his best to enter any home, so he could get out of the cold. Sadly, his attempts were all in vain, and almost everyone he came in contact with, just brushed him off and told him to get lost.
Finally, a Good Samaritan came to his rescue and called the rescue organization for help.
The poor kitty’s coat is filthy and matted, but he’s friendly and so grateful to have been rescued. He will soon be available for adoption.
We’ve seen so many abandoned cats lately; on window ledges, car engines, Amazon boxes-it’s been mind boggling. Blame it on the economy, unaffordable vet care, indifference, lack of resources but it’s a real problem. The shelter does not need one more cat and quite frankly we are over capacity. But it’s hard to say no. So Little Wanderers stepped up.
