At the Husky Rescue Ireland, the poignant photo of Buddy – a six-year-old Akita mourning after his owner recently passed away, remains a universal reminder of how deeply loyal our dogs are to their human families.
According to the rescue organization, Buddy’s family had given him away without allowing the organization to help, however the new owners contacted Husky Rescue Ireland immediately because they didn’t know what to do to help Buddy.
The pain that must be going through this boy’s head is unimaginable to most but we know how loyal they are.
Buddy needs a foster home as soon as possible, and since Pet Rescue Report is also popular internationally, we are reaching out to potential foster and/or adopters who have experience with Akitas or large breed dogs and are able to provide Buddy with the time and care he needs as he grieves for his former owner. He needs to be the only pet in the home and no children under the age of 16 please. Buddy is not aggressive, however there is always extreme caution employed.
If no one steps up, Buddy will be coming to the rescue organization, but it’s likely he will not do well in a kennel environment.
Please share Buddy’s plight with friends, family and social media contacts. If interested in helping, please message the Husky Rescue Ireland via private message for an application. To donate to help Buddy, please click here.
