Brave Florida family rescued dog trapped in ice in Canada lake

In Lac Beauport, Quebec, a family from Miami rescued a dog that had become trapped in the ice on Lake Beauport on Friday. It had started when the family of Alfonso De Anda had been walking around the lake and spotted the dog running around and wanting to play.

According to FoxWeather, the children named the playful pooch “Snowball” after the dog ran away no where to be found. Soon after, Alfonso’s wife noticed pawprints leading down to the lake, and moments later she spotted the two-year pup stuck in the broken ice after he had fallen through. She tried to reach a stick out to the dog, but he wouldn’t grab it, and so it was time for a new approach.

The children could be heard in the background trying their best to help rescue Snowball but still worried about the safety of their parents getting so precariously close to the edge of the lake. Finally Alfonso’s wife was able to stretch out her arms just long enough to grab the dog by its legs and pull it to safety.

It was a good day – Snowball was returned to his owners, and no one was hurt.

Many thanks to this brave family. You are all heroes!
