Scraggly looking dog jumped up and down at his owners hoping they would not desert him again

Admin

At the East Valley Animal Shelter in Van Nuys, California, a scraggly little dog jumped up and down and barked at his previous owners hoping they were going to scoop him up in their arms and live happily ever after. The two men stood at the kennel in tears, as the question loomed – “Is this your dog?”

Psy entered the shelter as a stray, and had a possible owner since he does have a microchip:

” My Name is PSY. I am described as Male (Neutered), Tan Mixed Breed. The shelter thinks I am about 5 years old. I have been at the shelter since January 05, 2023.

Psy hasn’t had a very charmed life in awhile. According to the report, the microchip is registered to the two men who the pup responded to, but they had given the dog to “friends” some time ago because their child had severe allergies. The men claimed they had not heard from their so-called friends, and were devastated to see their six year old pup in such horrible condition since he had always been groomed and well-cared for when they had him.

The men felt they had no option but to surrender Psy, so he can be rehomed in a loving home.

This is what a volunteer reported about Psy as she spent time with the little pooch.

I took PSY to a yard to get some photos and see what his temperament is like. He walked well on leash and when I sat on the bench, he jumped up and got into my lap. He is affectionate and treat motivated. And I want PSY to know what love and stability feel like. Please don’t keep PSY waiting in the shelter.

Beautiful SHIH TZU Mix PSY #A2065971 is a Super Loving, Friendly & Sweet neutered 5 yr old boy who Appears to Have had a Hard Life! PSY came in to the E. Valley LA City Shelter as a stray Severely Matted. It’s complicated but his original owners gave him to a friend to due their child’s allergies. PSY ended up as a stray at the shelter and they shaved him down as much as they could to help alleviate any pain from the matted fur. It would be Great if PSY could get Rescued so he can be fully vetted and placed in the Right/Forever Home and or Adopted by a Responsible/Loving Person! PSY is sharing a cage with two other dogs and gets along great, great on the leash, Super Loving and Affectionate with People!
