Oliver is scheduled to be euthanized on May 14, 2024 at the Miami Dade Animal Shelter. He’s been there more than a year, and no one seems to care if he lives or dies. He hides under a bench, afraid of what could be happening to him next.
According to the shelter, Oliver (#A2457705) has now been brought to the back of the shelter and out of public view because he has become overstimulated and stressed.
oliver is the most handsome #Boxer mix boy with such beautiful stripes. He is super sweet and a good looking dog who is wasting his best years locked in a kennel.
The staff and volunteers who have shared Oliver’s time at the shelter with him, tell us he loves treats and patiently and obediently sits and waits for them. He seems to get along well with other dogs and was affectionate and friendly with all people.
AND HIS EARS ARE EPIC!
Unfortunately, Oliver recently had an incident which now requires him to be “rescue only.” Most likely because of his extended time at the shelter and his stress level, an employee had been removing a food bowl from the bank cage after feeding the dogs. When the employee got to Oliver’s cage and went to remove his bowl, the dog reacted and bit the employee on his left hand.
Pet needs to be rescued to avoid further escalation of behavior and therefore avoid euthanasia.
