An exhausted 11-year-old Siberian husky mix named Mia was rescued from an oil-filled mechanic’s pit in San Diego on Tuesday. Mia had fallen into the ten-foot deep well under a garage in Ramona.

According to a news release, the owner of the garage notified the San Diego County Animal Services after he found the lost, oil-soaked dog trapped in the pit. Two officers responded and pulled Mia out of the well and rushed her to the animal shelter where the veterinarian staff clean and treated the dog.

Mia was microchipped, and authorities were able to reunite Mia with her family who said their beloved dog had been missing since Saturday.

The sweet senior is expected to make a full recovery.
