Caramel lived her entire life in a backyard where she was neglected and left to run loose. Other dogs in the same yard had been chained up, and a puppy rescued at the same time had been living in a kennel with bananas as his only food source.
And now in New Orleans, Take Paws Rescue is hoping Caramel can find the perfect home. The Belgian Malinois is only a year old and weighs about 40 pounds. She is heartworm negative and is described as a “TOTAL” sweetheart.
She is so affectionate, happy and up for adventures. She uses her paws a lot to get your attention so she can give you kisses.
And not only is Caramel sweet with people, this youngster also gets along very well with cats and other dogs. Her caretakers tell us she walks perfectly on a leash and stays right by her human’s side. She can be a bit shy in public, but everyone around her is helping her to gain her self-confidence.
She is high energy and LOVES her daily walks and needs lots of mental stimulation. She would do best with someone experienced with her breed.
The rescue organization is requiring anyone interested in adopting Caramel to have a fenced in backyard. Breed experience is a plus. If interested in making this adorable sweetheart part of your family, please apply at TakePawsRescue.org.
If you would like to help with her medical bills there is an array of ways to donate…
