In Los Angeles, at an animal rescue organization, Wags and Walks, a gentle, giant pup named Alexander starred in a special event last Friday called “Adopt Alexander and Friends Day.” The three-year-old shepherd/Doberman and Dane mix weighs about 80 pounds, and after spending 477 days, the staff and volunteers rolled out the red carpet and of course, lots of love and playtime dedicated to helping find Alexander a home.
In October 2021, Alexander arrived at the rescue after he had been saved from a local shelter where his life had been at risk. Indeed, this delightful pup wanted to make everyone happy, and so his training to make him the best canine citizen began.
My tail is always wagging and I’ve never met a person I didn’t love. I’m working on my leash skills but I’m very affection driven and love to learn. I’m a sweet soul who will make a wonderful addition to any loving family.

Since then, this gentle giant has completed his training program where he learned leash skills, crate training and becoming accustomed to loud vehicles and noises. He is a star athlete and loves playing with other dogs and of course – humans.
And the event was a success! Alexander, after watching 800 other dogs walk past him with their new families, it was this boy’s turn.
His Instagram photo has everyone smiling for sure:
