Imagine an abandoned dog so frightened that for the last two weeks, she waded in the water and hid out in a canal along the Los Angeles River Bed. For awhile she seemed to have gone unnoticed, but kind hearted people had spotted her; their efforts to capture her were unsuccessful. And there she waited – hoping her people would soon return and call her to come home. Everyone else – she ignored and ran from the moment they got too close.
She stayed in that water, stayed in the same place. Poor baby was so hungry. So scared. The nights were cold and lonely. If only she knew we were coming to save her. Maybe the nights wouldn’t have been so lonely?
Suzette Hall
And once again, it had been popular rescuer Suzette Hall, founder of the rescue, Logan’s Legacy 29 started in memory of her son, who had been called to help after Good Samaritans spotted the dog that had been in the same dangerous area for weeks.
When Suzette arrived, she had to drive her van into the canal and set the first humane trap. The dog was so hungry and could smell the food; her instinct to survive outweighed her fear, and it was only a few minutes before the dog entered the trap and started to eat.
A complete miracle. She knew we had come to save her. it was amazing. And chills of happiness. I could hear her snoring in my trap as I drove her to her foster, finally she could close both eyes.
