Barney smiles at everyone and even makes a call for someone special to adopt him

Admin

Barney gets to go to lots of adoption events sponsored by the Darlington County Humane Society, in South Carolina, but he just doesn’t seem to be garnering much attention.

Barney had a home because he arrived to us in September already microchipped (not registered), having been adopted from a different shelter. No owner has been located. Surely this is not his last chance to truly put shelter life behind him once and for all

At Barney’s last adoption event, he watched the other dogs getting adopted and as everyone passed his kennel, Barney smiled and wagged his tail. Sadly, at the end of the day, Barney still had not found his own human.

Barney is a great dog, and he just needs a chance. After nearly 175 days at the shelter, Barney still loves to play, still loves to be cuddled and still waits for someone who loves big dogs.

He longs for attention. When you visit his kennel, he whines begging you to take him out. He will press himself as close as he can against the gate so you can reach in and love on every part of him possible. If you sit with him, he’s delighted. If you take him out to play, he’s over the moon.

Barney likes children; not so hot for cats however. If you would like to meet this big guy, click here
