An early morning house fire on Sunday called to action fire departments from Egleston, Moreland, Fruitport and Muskegon Township. As the firemen battled the blaze, at the time, they were unaware of five defenseless puppies still in the burning home.
And it had not been, until one of the firefighters heard the plaintive cries of one of the dogs, that prompted the firefighters to return to one room in the back of the house. According to Pound Buddies, rescuers found one dog still moving and crying; the other dogs had been unresponsive and needed immediate oxygen life-saving care.
Pet oxygen masks were used, and within minutes they started to awaken. The puppies were then placed in one of the emergency vehicles and kept warm until they were taken to Pound Buddies.
How do we even express enough gratitude to the incredible men and women who not only keep us safe … but have the expertise to save the lives of our pets as well?
