Thanks to the San Bernardino County Fire, two dogs who had been stranded on a snow covered rooftop in Lake Arrowhead where more than nine feet of snow had fallen, have been rescued.
On March 4, a social media post from a local animal rescue group stated the owner had been snowed in and was not able to find their dogs. Lake Arrowhead has been one of the hardest hit areas for snowfall this winter.
The photos of the dogs and the accompanying post had initially mentioned a few different locations and included the owner’s contact information with the following information:
Owner is snowed in and cannot get out. If anyone sees them and can get them owner would appreciate it. do not chase them or yell out to them. Sit at their level and let them come to you. If you have food, you can try feeding them to come.

Thanks to the San Bernardino County Rescue Taskforce 6, Captain De la Torre patiently lured the dogs with food back in through a window and safely got them off the roof. Somehow, however the two dogs slipped away again, but were successfully captured by Good Samaritans and returned to their owner.
