In the Chicago community of Irving Park, a local rescue organization is asking for the public’s help with a four-month-old puppy found tied with a chain to a pole outside a Rogers Park 7-Eleven earlier in the week. On Monday, the staff from Famous Fido Rescue Adoption, Wellness and Learning Center received a call about the abandoned puppy; they rushed out to the location and found the very scared, mistreated and emaciated puppy.
Meet Cody – with his protruding ribs, overgrown nails on his feet and scars from what appear to be cigarette burns; the puppy must have suffered severe abuse at his previous home.
Cody is emaciated, has cigarette burns on his hind, and his tail has been injured to the point where it may need to be amputated. He has been through so much pain and trauma, yet he remains strong and resilient.
Cody has been so severely malnourished and most likely intentionally starved, he can barely lift the back end of his body. He has endured unimaginable pain. How could anyone treat a defenseless puppy like this?
When called about Cody, the rescue was already at full capacity, but no one would turn their back on him. He is in urgent need of a foster home and donations to help cover the puppy’s veterinarian treatment, nutrition and housing.
Cody has a long road of recovery ahead of him, and he needs all the support he so deserves.
Please join this rescue organization in supporting Cody’s rehabilitation and spreading awareness of his heartbreaking story. This puppy will now receive the love and care he so desperately needs.
