In St. Petersburg, Florida, ten years ago, Jaime McKnight started the Pawlicious Poochie Pet Rescue, to rescue sick, abused and senior dogs, who through no fault of their own, found themselves at shelters, often just a walk away down a lonely hall to be humanely euthanized.
And no, we can’t blame the shelters – they are all bursting at the seams with an incredible rise of owner surrenders, strays, seniors and of course the, “I don’t have time for our dog anymore” excuse.
On Tuesday morning, Jamie turned to social media for help with a senior whose tiny stature and face could bring anyone to tears. And there he was at a Tampa shelter, and he needed help now.
The smell of infection is so strong it would turn the strongest of stomachs. This wee one did not get like this overnight. THIS is years of neglect. After all the hell he has endured, he gave me little lick on my arm to say “thanks lady!”. Absolutely heartbreaking that a little life has endured so much pain and suffering.

I couldn’t let this little one die at the shelter. I couldn’t find transport so I’m hauling a** to shelter in between work appts. No funds to take on a case like this but I couldn’t turn a blind eye and hope for the best for him.

Meet Stewie. He is about 15-years-old and is a severe neglect case. He suffers from a skin infection and may also lose his eye.
Stewie joins another emergency case at the Pawlicious Poochie Paw Rescue. On Monday, Gilbert the chihuahua arrived; sadly another critical case. His blood showed he was very anemic; he is currently receiving a blood transfusion. This poor little dog had been “dumped” also.
Check out Gilbert’s video:

The amazing Dr.C is at the helm to help this wee one. Bloodwork is really bad! Severe anemia and raging infection to START. That’s just layman terms. But the reality is he is very critical. Whatever he needs to get back on track he will Receive.
These two cases have “SHUT DOWN PPPR” because of the current veterinary expenses. EMERGENCY DONATIONS ARE NEEDED!
