Heartbreaking: Senior dogs found cuddled with their deceased owner waiting for her to wake up

Admin

Chase and Rosie are two senior dogs who were found in Houston, Texas on Wednesday, cuddled with their deceased owner waiting for her to wake up. Tragically, the family relatives didn’t want either dog, and that very afternoon, Chase and Rosie were sent to the nearest animal shelter – an overcrowded, hot and extremely noisy place with not one familiar face.

A social media plea went out for Chase, an eight-year-old golden retriever, and ThisIsHouston stepped up to help. It was then the shelter mentioned Chase’s sister – Rosie – a 13-year-old shepherd mix. Both dogs were rescued and are now safe.

Chase is obese and weighs 107 pounds. He struggles to stand once he has been lying down. His nails were extremely long; probably because his elderly owner was not able to take him to the veterinarian on her own.

And as for Rosie, this poor girl was so frightened during the car ride to the veterinarian, she needed oxygen upon arrival to help her breathe. Once she realized she was safe, she quickly calmed down and improved.

The good news – bloodwork on both of the dogs came back within normal range. Both had pedicures, remained at the vet clinic overnight on intravenous fluids, and both have been started on medications for their minor skin and eye issues.

their worlds have turned upside down. All they have known for many years is no more. But they had each other for 8 years and they still have each other.

Chase and Rosie will not be separated; they are both in foster care together. They are both fully vetted and will soon be ready to find a new forever home together.

Here’s hoping their owner somehow knows her two beloved dogs are safe.
