A six-week-old puppy had only known a very cruel life in a very short time, but little Kasey has been having better days. Thanks to the animal advocacy group ThisIsHouston, this puppy was rescued from BARC Animal Shelter in Houston late last week.
She was found all by herself weighing just four pounds, with a lot of hair loss and had been VERY itchy from sarcoptic mange. This pitiful little one arrived at Blue Pearl Emergency Vet Care & Support on Friday and needed surgery to remove her ruptured eye.
She is reported to be doing well and was transferred to her foster home. Kasey is now settling in, but since she has sarcoptic mange, which is contagious to humans and other animals, she’ll stay isolated and quarantined for a week or two and is being handled with gloves right now.
She’s very scabby and itchy and will need lots of help with her skin, so an Amazon wish list has been created to get her fosters set up with some goodies. If you’d like to send anything Kasey’s way, follow this link. https://a.co/5NiVoKJ —
