What in the world could ever have attracted this tiny puppy to pop his head through a tire rim? As baffling as the reason is now, in Dallas, Texas, this poor little guy ended up almost dying had it not been for a Good Samaritan and a team of firemen and rescuers who arrived at the scene just in time.
On Thursday morning, the puppy could be heard whimpering and crying; it had been a Good Samaritan who stopped to investigate where the plaintive sounds of a suffering animal originated. And there he was; a mangy, dehydrated puppy covered in fleas with his head stuck fast in the rim of an old tire.
Dallas Dog – Rescue.Rehab.Reform mike used soap. And patience. Put it on the dogs neck, head and ears. Pushed ears towards the nose, and turned the dogs head to shimmy it out. He says there is enough gap in there to try that.
When that approach was unsuccessful, more help was needed.
The fire department was called, and it took time to free the puppy, however the rescue was successful. Even though no amount of lubricating the rim would free him; that is until the rescue protocol of the fire rescue team were able to use the proper equipment and rescue techniques to help.
And so the heroes for the voiceless once again prevailed:
