Near Downtown Los Angeles, in Southgate, a small defeated, defenseless, injured and frightened dog had the worst day of his life on Saturday. He was witnessed being dragged down the sidewalk tied with a rope by a person suspected to have been high on drugs or intoxicated.
Fortunately, someone did step up and told the man to release the dog, but instead of following through with at least a call to the local Animal Control, the person left the dog behind. And, that’s exactly the spot where the dog stayed for the next 24 hours.
A volunteer from Logan’s Legacy 29 stayed with the dog until Suzette Hall arrived, and when she saw him, she feared the worst and thought the dog was near death.
he just wasn’t moving from that spot. He would cuddle himself up to feel safe. And try to sleep to pretend nothing like that had happened to him. Sooooooooo heartbreaking.

It was then that Suzette slowly kneeled on the ground next to the tired pup and told him she was here to save his life. And then volunteer Mary and Suzette were able to safely place him into the humane trap.
The dog was completely dehydrated; his gums were pale, his skin was raw and his paws were red from having been dragged along the hot sidewalk. Once they started him on Nutri cal, water and some soft reassuring words, he started to perk up.
…He was still loyal to wait. He has seen the world as abuse but not anymore. I told him the world is not a bad place and now he will leaarn to believe that. This baby is rescued.
