Many thanks to everyone who shared Penny Lane’s story and helped to build awareness. You are ALL heroes.
At the City of San Bernardino Animal Services, a three-year-old Belgian Malinois dubbed Penny waited three long months for a home at the shelter. When she finally was adopted and brought to her new home, it was just two days later that her new owners returned her to the shelter. Why? According to the new owner, his other dogs had been “mean to her.”
Check out Penny’s PetHarbor adoption listing:
IN FOSTER: PENNY – ID#A553884Penny is available for adoption.
“My name is In foster: p and I am a female, brown and black Belgian Malinois. Shelter staff think I am about 3 years old. I have been at the shelter since Jun 08, 2023.”
No doubt Penny is a great dog. She is both crate and house trained.
You can see she’s loving. Any dog who spent 3 months in the shelter and hugs the animal control officer in the parking lot is a dog worth saving.

Penny is now in foster care, but she needs a home. Please, before you adopt a dog, be familiar with the proper way to introduce new pets into a home. Please share this sweet girl’s plight and help her find the perfect home. Sharing saves lives.
