An injured and terrified dog was rescued from the median of busy I-30 in Dallas on Tuesday morning by a Good Samaritan. Concerned motorists had been calling authorities after spotting the trapped dog that had either been hit by a car or dumped by some heartless owner.
Dallas Dog – Rescue.Rehab.Reform immediately stepped up to help in the emergency situation. Fortunately, the person who stopped to save the dog transported her to an emergency veterinarian.
Meet “Penny Lane” who is about a year old and was very frightened from her unfortunate experience. An examination at the veterinarian hospital showed lacerations on one leg, while she not weight bearing on the other leg. An x-ray showed a fracture accompanied by swelling. It is hoped the fracture will heal without surgical intervention.
Fortunately Penny Lane is heartworm negative and her bloodwork looks fine.
She is also in need of a medical foster to help her with her rehabilitation.
