Kristen is a one-year-old female black and white German shepherd blend. She arrived at the San Bernardino City Animal Shelter on May 30. What a heartbreaking difference two weeks has made.

Her intake photo showed a dog with hope. Now she barely moves and clings to the corner of her kennel in utter despair. She silently waits for that special person who can change her fate. Kristin has all but given up. She reportedly has not been out in the play yard; no sunshine, little interaction with humans and little hope left in such a young life.

Pet Harbor adoption listing:

KRISTEN DIG – ID#A555885

“My name is Kristen and I am an unaltered female, black and white German Shepherd Dog mix. Shelter staff think I am about 1 year and 1 month old. I have been at the shelter since May 30, 2023.”

Today, Kristen has been “red listed,” which means she can be euthanized at any time. She became available for adoption on June 3, and no one has shown any interest in her. She is currently being kenneled with two dogs; one dog is selective, and it has been reported that dog keeps this sweet beauty from coming forward. No one sees her, and potential adopters just walk by.
