40 purebred pups abandoned in orchard field in Merced County

Admin

In an orchard field in Merced County, California, rescuers are trying to deal with nearly 40 purebred dogs and puppies abandoned and left to fend for themselves. Among the breeds found were poodles, doodles, Afghans, schnoodles and Cocker spaniels. None of the dogs, ranging in ages from six months to three years of age, were microchipped.

It has been Kates Furreka Rescue who have stepped forward to help. The dogs appear to be well-fed, although they are dirty and matted and require immediate baths and grooming. No one knows how the dogs suddenly appeared in the orchard, and spotters are on the look out for any dogs that might have strayed out of sight.

The rescue organization has reached out for volunteer groomers. Please contact the rescue if you are available.

For now the task is to get the dogs groomed, vaccinated and evaluated as to their dispositions that one day soon they will be available and ready for new loving homes. If you can help in any way, it would be greatly appreciated. You can make cash donations (Paypal or Venmo) or purchase items from their Amazon Wishlist.
