In Downey, California, a defeated stray pup lived alone for more than three months in exactly the same place where she had been abandoned; she was one more dog tossed away like an old sofa, but her unwavering loyalty kept her in that same spot. Waiting.
She had been living, or rather barely existing in a trucking area, and there was no one around for miles. She was exhausted, and she was afraid.
For three months, she had been living under a truck. She was little more than skin over bones, covered in grease from underneath the truck, covered in fly strikes which hurt and were infected, with an open cut that would bleed when she licked it as it just hurt so much.
Scared, starving and suffering, it didn’t matter; under that truck became her home. And at night as she tried to make herself comfortable, she thought about home and hoped tomorrow her owner would return. Truckers in the area took pity on her and would leave her food and water, but she continued to lose weight; getting thinner and thinner as the weeks slowly passed by.
It was Suzette Hall, founder of Logan’s Legacy 29, who was called to help; Suzette is well known and so successful helping the neediest dogs; the dogs no one seems to want and the ones who have nearly given up on life.

And so Suzette set up her humane trap by the truck the dog called her home and waited. The pup was weak and tired, and she stared at Suzette as if pleading for help, but not knowing how to find it.
It wasn’t easy but after some kind words and showing her it was ok to leave her little home under the truck.
I had her safe.

Her name is Reanna, and from this day on, she will never again have to call that spot under that truck home. She is rescued.
