At the Carson Animal Shelter in Carson, California, Oreo, prefers what he perceives to be the safety of an old cardboard box, instead of a kennel. He just wants to feel safe.
On Lost Dogs Los Angeles, CA, this little guy was found as a stray on El Segundo and Central Ave. in South Los Angeles on May 27. He wore a collar with the number #A5276225.

According to shelter notes, Oreo had been at Carson in 2019, and at the time he was neutered and then adopted. When he was 12-years-old, Oreo was returned to his owner. Now Oreo is 16-years-old and was found as a stray. He remains on “hold” for his owner to return until July 5th.
Sadly, Oreo will be at the shelter for the July 4th activities, which of course includes fireworks. Is there anyone who will foster him and keep him calm and safe? Please share Oreo’s plight with approved rescue organizations, friends, family and social media contacts. Oreo should NOT be in a shelter; he deserves better. Sharing saves lives.
