UPDATE: Rescued by Rover’s Retreat
Meet Julio; this 45-pound love bug was “dumped” at the Chesterfield South Los Angeles Animal Shelter on June 21, 2023 by his “Guardian.” He’s blind, but oh so sweet and only six-years-old. Volunteers and staff were brought to tears.
There are monsters among us. I am horrified at what has happened with this poor doggy’s skin from a lifetime of indifference.
Why is there not an investigation done is part of the problem why we see animals in this deplorable state over and over.

The shelter has since neutered Julio, and this boy who has more than likely been suffering a lifetime of neglect, is ready to be adopted. The problem is – how many families want to adopt a dog with serious skin issues?

Julio needs a soft place to land and transform his dark world into a new day where he feels great and finds love every morning.
